For best foaming, both liquid components should be set at 65 to 80°F (18 to 27°C) for the 12 hours immediately preceding mixing. Before mixing, however, the two liquid components should be thoroughly stirred in their individual containers. The two liquid components are mixed in equal volumes or weights. When properly mixed, the cured foam cell structure should be small and uniform in size. Foam's color should be dark grey to black.
Snap times are between 1.5 and 3 minutes. There may be a slight difference depending on the temperature.
When sealing fire-rated openings containing various penetrants, they are often complex or irregular in shape and difficult to access and operate in. Hand mixing has a 4-5 out of 10 seal inspection failure rate due to challenges in stirring, mixing the correct amounts of components A & B, and placing the properly mixed amount to build a barrier in the seal area before snap time starts, resulting in unexpected bottom-line cost.
This continues often because of the lack of knowledge of the existence of FOAMFIXER III K or the reluctance of Fire Prevention or RTV Fire Barrier Foam installers to request one.
TIME IS VALUE.
Automated stirring, mixing, and dispensing equipment resolves these problems. The best automated machine for installing RTV Foam Kits is the FOAMFIXER III K. It consistently mixes A & B components in the dispensing gun nozzle, letting you control the amount needed at the penetration seal area to efficiently and correctly build a barrier. By repetitively producing consistent fine-cell structure foam that is dark grey to black, it helps you seal penetrations quickly that pass inspection and have a long service life.
